Cooch Behar, 15th October: Panic triggered in the Changrabandha area of Mekhliganj block in Cooch Behar after a mortar shell was recovered from under a huge rock. The incident led to a widespread commotion in the area.
It is to be noted that rocks exported to Bangladesh are obtained from several riverbeds in Dooars and stacked at the land of Changrabandha located in Mekhliganj block. On Sunday, the workers spotted the mortar shell. Subsequently, the Mekhliganj police were notified of the incident. As soon as they arrived at the spot, the authorities began an investigation into the entire occurrence.
