Siliguri, 06th October: More than 150 people have been arrested by various police stations of Siliguri Metropolitan Police during the Durga Puja in the city. All of the alleged miscreants have been arrested on charges of assault, gambling, and disturbing the atmosphere of Puja in a state of intoxication.
According to the information received from the police department, during the course of four days around 20 people were arrested by the Pradhan Nagar police station, 40 by the Matigara police station, 20 by the Bhakti Nagar police station and Aashighar outpost, 40 by the NJP police station with Ambari and Milan Pally outpost and Siliguri police station with Khalpara and Panitanki outpost police arrested 30 people.
