Rajganj, 02nd October: Allegations of money being collected from applicants for filling out forms outside a ‘Seva Setu Abhiyan’ camp in Rajganj have prompted police intervention, with authorities warning those allegedly involved and advising the public not to pay for the service.
The ‘Seva Setu Abhiyan’ has been launched to facilitate access to various government welfare schemes and services. As part of the initiative, a three-day camp began at Belakoba Krishak Bazaar in Rajganj on Friday.
During the camp, some individuals were reportedly seen helping applicants fill out forms outside the camp premises. Allegations subsequently surfaced that applicants were being charged between ₹20 and ₹50 for the service. There were also complaints that money was allegedly being collected from elderly applicants.
Following the allegations, police personnel, including Arijit Kundu, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Belakoba Outpost, reached the spot and warned the individuals allegedly collecting money. Police also informed the public that they should not pay anyone outside the camp for assistance with filling out forms related to government schemes.
