Siliguri, 31st May: Siliguri MLA Shankar Ghosh announced plans to file a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) against negligence in water supply in areas under the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC). The MLA disclosed this during a press conference held at the Siliguri Journalists Club (SJC) on Friday.
During the press meet, MLA Ghosh accused the SMC of supplying contaminated water to city residents for the past twenty days. He raised concerns about the purity of water supplied throughout the state and questioned whether the water is being properly tested. Ghosh also mentioned that the issue would be reported to the state’s Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department.
