Rajganj, 30th December: Rajganj MLA Khageswar Roy laid the foundation for the construction of two new paved roads on Tuesday in the Sannyasikata Gram Panchayat area of Rajganj block.
One road, stretching approximately 3.5 km, will connect Paglahaata to Jamidargach, while the other road will cover about 1,800 meters from PWD Road to Nakugach. The project will be funded with nearly ₹2.5 crore from the West Bengal Panchayat and Rural Development Department.
MLA Khageswar Roy said the long-standing demand of the local people has finally been fulfilled, and the construction of these two roads will benefit several villages in the area.
The foundation-laying ceremony was attended by Jalpaiguri Zilla Parishad member Uttara Barman, Rajganj Panchayat Samiti president Rupali Dey Sarkar, Rajganj Block Trinamool Congress president Arindam Banerjee, Panchayat Samiti member Tahidar Rahman, Gram Panchayat heads Ruma Khanum and Roshan Habib, along with other officials.
