Kharibari, 12th May: Taking advantage of a vacant house in the Panitanki area of Kharibari block, miscreants broke the lock and absconded with a sum of Rs 20,000 in cash and valuable gold jewellery worth several lakhs of rupees.
According to reports, on Thursday night, Asit Singh and his family members departed to partake in a wedding ceremony held at Dudhgate in Panitanki, under Kharibari block. Upon their return, they found the lock on the entrance door broken. Upon further inspection, they found the entire house had been turned upside down and an amount of Rs 20,000 along with the gold jewellery was missing.
Police from Panitanki Out Post swiftly arrived at the scene and launched an investigation into the entire episode.
