Siliguri, 02nd May: A theft has occurred in Siliguri Municipal Corporation’s Ward No. 46, at the Samar Nagar auto stand near the old Kali Temple area. The thieves scaled the wall and gained entry into the house through the balcony, stealing a mobile phone and cash.
The family members discovered the incident this morning and promptly reported it to the Pradhan Nagar Police Station. The owner of the house, Deba Sharma, mentioned that the balcony door was left open last night, allowing the miscreants to enter the house at around 3:00 am. The thieves escaped after stealing a mobile phone and Rs. 20,000 in cash. Sharma added that the incident was recorded on the CCTV footage installed at their house, which has been handed over to the police.
The police are currently investigating the matter with the help of the CCTV footage.
