Siliguri, 22nd October: A shocking attempted robbery involving the snatching of a gold chain from a woman’s neck has caused a stir in the Bharat Nagar area of Ward No. 24, under the Siliguri Municipal Corporation.
As per reports, the incident occurred on Tuesday morning when Deepali Banerjee, an elderly resident of the area, was returning home from the market. Two youths on a bike approached her and attempted to snatch the gold chain from her neck. Subsequently, the suspects fled the scene.
Although no formal complaint has been lodged, Banerjee verbally informed the local police of the incident. This brazen act in broad daylight has raised concerns over security once again.
