Minor girl’s death triggers political stir: Shankar Ghosh continues dharna in Siliguri demanding arrest of accused

Siliguri, 25th March: The political tension has escalated in Siliguri following the suspicious death of a minor girl, with protests intensifying as the accused remains unarrested even after 48 hours of the incident. Siliguri’s BJP candidate Shankar Ghosh has expressed strong anger over the issue.

At present, Shankar Ghosh is continuing his agitation by sitting on a dharna platform. He stated that a rally is being organised on the matter and appealed to residents of the city to join the movement.

Targeting Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, he alleged that while she is visiting North Bengal for election campaigning, she has not commented on the incident. He further claimed that the government focuses only on votes rather than standing with people during distressing situations.

Shankar Ghosh also said that he does not need separate campaign efforts as he remains connected with people throughout the year. He asserted that he will continue the sit-in protest until the accused is arrested.
