Kharibari, 18th January: A minor was arrested with a country-made pistol and ammunition from the Gurudayal Jote area under Kharibari police station.
According to police sources, Sushant Paswan, a resident of Katihar district in Bihar, had come to his relative’s house in the area and was moving around with a country-made pistol. Later, he allegedly handed over the firearm to his minor relative and left the spot.
Upon receiving the information, Kharibari police reached the location. However, Sushant Paswan managed to flee from the scene before the police arrived. The police detained the minor from the spot and seized the country-made pistol along with ammunition from his possession.
The arrested minor will be produced before the Darjeeling Juvenile Justice Board on Saturday. Police said an investigation into the entire incident is underway.
