Siliguri, 25th November: State tourism minister Goutam Deb returned home after successfully testing negative for COVID-19.
It is to be noted that the minister, after testing COVID-19 positive, was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Matigara since November 06. However, after undergoing several re-tests, all reports came back positive. As a result, his supporters were highly concerned regarding his health.
A yagna was also organized on behalf of a club in Siliguri praying for his speedy recovery. Following this, Deb successfully tested negative for the virus last night.
He was discharged from the hospital today. After he returned home this morning, the party members as well as the locals visited his house to welcome him.
Minister Goutam Deb said that he will stay at home quarantine for several more days as per the doctor’s advice.
