Siliguri, 14th January: E-rickshaws (Toto) without TIN numbers have been banned on the city’s main roads since January 01.
Minister Goutam Deb held discussions with various Toto associations at Mainak Tourist Lodge on Thursday in the presence of District Magistrates of Darjeeling and Jalpaiguri.
During the meeting, Goutam Deb said that the ones having only one e-rickshaw will be given priority. Besides, the shops which are illegally selling e-rickshaw parts will be shut down.
The minister said that a decision will be taken by the administration keeping in mind the benefits of the general public as well as the Toto drivers. He further maintained that specific routes for totos will be fixed soon.
