Minister Aroop Biswas visited the affected shops in Siliguri’s Bidhan Market

Siliguri, 29th September: In a significant development following the devastating fire at Siliguri’s Bidhan Market, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced financial assistance for the affected traders and assured to rebuild the damaged shops.


State Minister Aroop Biswas, along with Siliguri Mayor Gautam Deb, visited the market on Sunday evening to assess the damage and meet with the affected traders. They held a meeting with the Bidhan Market Traders’ Association and listened to their concerns.

Minister Biswas assured the traders that the state government is committed to helping them recover from this loss. He stated that the administration has heard all the concerns of the traders’ association. As a result, the Chief Minister has already announced compensation.


Mayor Deb corroborated the statement and mentioned that the Chief Minister has announced compensation and necessary action will be taken to implement her directives. The traders’ association expressed their gratitude and requested a meeting with her to discuss the reconstruction of the Bidhan Market.

The fire at Bidhan Market had caused significant damage to numerous shops, leaving many traders in a difficult financial situation. The state government’s swift response and support assurance have brought hope to the affected traders.
