Members of the Bharat Sangha with their Thalassemia awareness camp reach Bidhannagar

Bidhannagar, January 10th: The members of the Bharat Sangha are traveling from Bangaon to Jalpaiguri’s Totopara on motorcycles to spread awareness regarding Thalassemia and blood donation. In this context, the members of the Bharat Sangha reached Bidhannagar, today, on their way to Totopara in Jalpaiguri.


Thalassemia is a blood disorder passed down through families (inherited) in which the body makes an abnormal form or inadequate amount of hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen. The disorder results in large numbers of red blood cells being destroyed, which leads to anemia.

Sitam Paul and Raju Das, on behalf of the Bidhannagar Welfare, encouraged the members of the Bharat Sangha by providing them with pineapple. The Sangha was highly encouraged and supported by the Bidhannagar Police. In Bidhannagar, the members of the Bharat Sangha inspired the people to donate blood and raised awareness regarding Thalassemia.
