Mechpara Tea Estate in Kalchini block reopens, workers return to work

Alipurduar, 23rd January: The Mechpara Tea Estate in the Kalchini block of Alipurduar district has finally reopened, bringing joy to the workers who returned to work on Thursday morning.

It is worth noting that on January 9, the management of Mechpara Tea Estate had closed the garden. Following this, a tripartite meeting was held by the Labor Department on Tuesday. In that meeting, it was decided to reopen the tea garden, and the garden resumed operations this morning.

The reopening of the tea estate has brought happiness to the faces of the workers. During Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s visit to Alipurduar, two tea gardens were reopened in the district. It is known that the Dalmore Tea Garden in the Madarihat block was opened on Wednesday. Additionally, three other tea gardens – Torsha, Kalchini, and Raimatang, were reopened on January 20.
