Siliguri, 02nd April: Siliguri Municipal Corporation Mayor Goutam Deb held a meeting with the Police Commissioner and other police officers today regarding the nuisance of traffic jams in Siliguri city. Several issues including the movement of totos and autos as well as freight vehicles were discussed in the meeting.
Furthermore, it has also been decided to remove all godowns located in populated areas of the city in order to control the movement of goods trucks in the city. The Mayor said that a meeting will also be held with representatives of Toto-Auto Associations to reduce the problem of traffic jams in the city. He added that the administration is also looking into plans to build additional roads in the city.
