Fulbari, 19th December: On Tuesday, Mayor Goutam Deb of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) laid the foundation stone for the construction work of a 5-kilometer concrete road from Dukan Jhora under Fulbari – II Gram Panchayat (GP) to Jiaganj via Lockdown More. The said road is being constructed at an estimated cost of about Rs 89 lakh.
The programme was attended by Jalpaiguri Zilla Parishad Karmadhyaksha Nurjahan Begam, Zilla Parishad member Manisha Roy, Jalpaiguri District Trinamool Congress General Secretary Debashish Pramanik, Fulbari-II GP Pradhan Rafiqul Islam and others.
In this regard, Mayor Goutam Deb stated that the foundation stone has been laid to construct an important road. He added that the road was first constructed in the year 2019. At present, the road will be renovated and further widened. Furthermore, he stated that the development would greatly benefit the residents of this area.
