Siliguri, 31st December: Matigara police made a special gesture ahead of the New Year by returning 40 recovered lost and stolen mobile phones to their rightful owners, bringing smiles to the faces of the recipients.
In recent weeks, the police had received several complaints of phone theft and snatching. Acting on these complaints, Matigara police launched an investigation, leading to the recovery of 40 mobile phones. On the last day of 2024, the police decided to return the phones as a New Year gift, much to the delight of the owners.
The owners expressed their gratitude to the police personnel as they received their lost phones, with many visibly relieved and happy.
Matigara Police Station IC, Arindam Bhattacharya, commented on the event, stating that the return of the 40 mobile phones had brought happiness to the people and he was pleased to see their joy as they received their belongings back.
