Siliguri, 22nd June: In a swift operation, Matigara Police Station arrested five miscreants on the verge of committing a significant crime. Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a raid and apprehended Manmohan Barman, Saurav Das, Kunal Singha, Manik Barman, and Bolai Barman—all residents of Bagdogra, Phansidewa, and Matigara areas of Siliguri.
Reportedly, police recovered a dagger, two iron rods, and a torch from the suspects. The tip-off indicated that a group of youths had gathered at the Phansidewa More railway underpass with the intention of committing a major criminal act.
The Matigara Police’s patrolling van acted promptly, resulting in the arrest of five individuals, although some managed to escape under the cover of darkness. The arrested suspects were produced in Siliguri court on Saturday.
