Massive fire breaks out in Siliguri’s Madhya Shanti Nagar

Siliguri, 23rd October: A fire broke out in the Madhya Shanti Nagar area of Siliguri’s Ward No. 36 and created a stir late Tuesday night. The fire broke out around 9 PM in a residential building storing petrol leading to a rapid spread of flames.


Local residents quickly responded to the situation and attempted to douse the fire before the arrival of the fire department. Subsequently, the firefighting officials arrived and managed to bring the situation under control. However, several household items were burned to ashes.

Three family members suffered injuries in the incident, and one woman reported to be in critical condition, has been admitted to Siliguri District Hospital.


Meanwhile, Ward No. 36 Councilor Ranjan Sil Sharma arrived at the scene. He confirmed that the presence of petrol in the house attributed to the fire and stated that police have initiated an investigation to determine the reasons behind its storage.
