Siliguri, 22nd January: A marathon is being organized by the Agrani Sangha in view of the Uttar Banga Utsav. The competition, which includes Half Marathon, Mini Marathon, Dream Run, will commence on January 26 from Siliguri’s Venus More.
Prasenjit Roy, the President of the Marathon Committee of the Agrani Sangha stated that about 400 runners participated in the competition, last year, and they are expecting a large number of runners to participate in the competition, this year as well. He further mentioned that the Half Marathon competition will be contested between the men, while the other competitions will be contested between men and women.
The winner of the Half Marathon will be awarded a prize of 1 lakh rupees. Meanwhile, the first ten participants will also be awarded. Also, a slogan competition based on the environment is being organized. The contestant who chants the best slogan will be rewarded with cash.
