Manuaganj post office in dilapidated state, postmaster and staff demand urgent repair

Rajganj, 10th September: The Manuaganj Post Office in Rajganj now stands as a dilapidated infrastructure. The doors and windows of the establishment are falling apart while its tin roof has been severely rusted with large holes causing water to pool inside whenever it rains. The floor is infested with termites leading to a soiled floor. However, the post office duties are still under operation in the rundown infrastructure.

The Manuaganj Post Office began its journey in a small room at the Harihar Nirashray Sewa Ashram in 2001. The ashram was established by Swami Hariharananda, who maintained the ashram in a decent condition. Following his passing in 2015, the ashram was a subject of neglect and has since been abandoned, reflecting the state of the post office’s premises.

Assistant Postmaster Abdur Rahim Ali of Manuaganj Post Office stated that the building has severely deteriorated. During rains, water collects inside the room, creating problems for storing important documents and materials. The post office handles critical documents such as PAN cards and Aadhaar cards, and the current conditions are causing difficulties in managing these essential papers. As a result, he demanded the immediate repair of the infrastructure.
