Man murdered in washroom of his residence in Siliguri: Sensational revelations made by accused

Siliguri, 09th December: The accused involved in the alleged murder of an individual in the washroom of his residence, in Durga Nagar Colony of Ward. No 4 of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC), have made shocking revelations concerning the case. During his appearance in Siliguri court, the accused stated not being involved in the crime. In addition, he stated that he was involved in drinking alcohol at the residence with Vipul’s wife.


It has to be noted that, on Friday night, the body of Vipul Gupta was recovered from the washroom of his residence in Durganagar Colony of SMC’s Ward No. 4. Following the incident, Vipul’s wife Lakhi Gupta accused their neighbor Ram Barman of murder. Subsequently, the police of Khalpara Outpost arrested the accused Ram Barman, and the deceased’s body was recovered and sent for post-mortem examination.

On Saturday, accused Ram Barman made sensational revelations and denied his involvement in the case in front of the media during his appearance in the Siliguri court. Interestingly, the allegations made by the deceased’s wife are now under scanner.


According to the revelations made by the accused, Ram was drinking alcohol with Vipul’s wife at the residence. During this, Vipul arrived home, prompting Ram to flee and hide in the washroom. Later, Vipul went to the washroom for a washup and spotted him which resulted in a scuffle between the two. To get himself out of the prevailing situation, Ram pushed Vipul and managed to escape the scene. The accused further claimed that he had no enmity with the deceased. On this day, the accused was produced before the Siliguri court and was taken on a three-day remand.
