Cooch Behar, 08th May: In a gruesome incident, a man identified as Bikash Barman was lynched after he killed his 7-month-old child, while being highly intoxicated. The horrifying news surfaced from the Boro Nachni area under the Dinhata Police station of Cooch Behar district.
According to police sources, Barman returned home drunk and started a feud with his wife. It has been alleged that Barman then physically attacked her when she argued back. In the course, their 7-month-old baby started crying which further agitated him and led him to take out a sharp weapon and stab his child to death.
After the matter came to light, Barman was lynched by the locals. Upon receiving the news, the Dinhata Police reached the spot shortly after and rushed Barman to the Dinhata Hospital, where the doctors declared him dead. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
