Siliguri, 04th November: A tragic incident surfaced from the Simulbari area of Dabgram I Gram Panchayat (GP) under the jurisdiction of the Bhakti Nagar police station, where a man committed suicide. The deceased has been identified as Rajkumar Barman.
As per reports, about 10 years ago, Rajkumar, a local of the said area was married to Kalpana Roy, a resident of Malbazar. Within a few days of their marriage, differences emerged between the couple. Despite all, they somehow continued to live together.
About three months ago, amidst the ever-growing rift, Kalpana allegedly left her husband’s home with cash and their child. Following this, husband Rajkumar made frequent requests to his wife to return home, however, she did not return. The incident left Rajkumar mentally disturbed.
On Friday night, Rajkumar Barman went to sleep after a conversation with his mother. The following morning, as his mother called Rajkumar for food, she spotted his lifeless body hanging inside the room.
Upon receiving the news, BJP Panchayat member of Simulbari under Dabgram I GP arrived at the spot and the matter was informed to the Bhakti Nagar police station. Promptly, the police arrived, recovered the deceased body, and transported it to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for a post-mortem examination. In addition, the cops also recovered a suicide note. At present, the police are engaged in a detailed investigation of the entire incident.
