Man kills friend following dispute over drinking alcohol, police recreate crime scene near Ambari

Rajganj, 06th November: A case of brutal murder of a man came to light after a fight between friends over drinking alcohol. This incident took place on October 19 in the Shivnath Para area adjacent to Ambari. The deceased has been identified as Monojit Roy (42).


Following the incident, Ambari Outpost police initiated an investigation and arrested two friends of the deceased in connection with the murder. The arrested accused are Tapan Roy and Pradeep Dorji.

As per reports, On Monday, Ambari Outpost police took the main accused Tapan to the spot of the incident and recreated the entire crime scene. In addition, Monojit’s mobile phone was also recovered after searching a pond near the site of the crime. Meanwhile, Monojeet’s family has demanded stringent punishment for the culprits.


Police sources revealed that a dispute broke out between three friends over drinking alcohol on October 19. In no time, the dispute took a violent turn and Tapan allegedly killed Monojit by striking his head with a stone. They added that the main accused Tapan Roy and Pradeep Dorji were arrested, following investigations. During the subsequent interrogation, Tapan confessed to committing the crime. The entire matter is under further police investigation.
