Rajganj, 07th June: A tragic accident occurred on Friday night along the Gandar More-Sahudangi state highway, claiming the life of 58-year-old Dhiren Sarkar near Gandar More.
A resident of Akarigach Banabhasa village under Binnaguri gram panchayat in Rajganj block, Dhiren was returning home when he was hit by a speeding motorcycle. He lived alone, while his two sons are employed in other states.
Local residents rushed him to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), but he was declared dead by the attending doctors.
Police from Bhorer Alo Police Station and Canal More Traffic Outpost responded promptly to the scene. The motorcycle was recovered, and an investigation into the incident is underway.
The fatal accident has cast a pall of gloom over the local area.
