Man hangs himself to death in Phansidewa following family dispute

Phansidewa, 31st May: In a shocking incident, an individual committed suicide by hanging from the noose in Nikargach village of Phansideva block. According to sources, the deceased, Mohammad Asin (55), took the drastic step following a family dispute. 


Reportedly, a woman named Amina Khatoon, a resident of Jotiyakali, Fulbari, was married to Mohammad Mansoor, the elder son of the deceased, three years ago and the family relations were normal. Recently, after a family dispute, Amina Khatoon went to her father’s place and later filed a case against her husband and in-laws at the police station, alleging harassment.

Subsequently, the family members found Mohammad Asin hanging from the noose in the house this morning. The matter was immediately reported at the Phansidewa police station. Upon receiving the news, police reached the spot and recovered the body. Meanwhile, the relatives of the deceased alleged that Amina’s family demanded money, resulting in the mental stress of Mohammad Asin.  At present, police are engaged in the investigation after sending the deceased’s body to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for autopsy.
