Man found dead after stress over daughter’s enumeration form; Siliguri Deputy Mayor visits bereaved family

Siliguri, 15th November: A man from Kumarbhita area of Ambari under Binnaguri Gram Panchayat in Rajganj was found dead on Thursday night after suffering mental distress over his daughter not receiving her enumeration form. The body of Bhuban Chandra Roy was discovered hanging from a tree near his house.

According to the family, Bhuban’s daughter Shivani Roy, though married for a few years, returned to her father’s home every year to cast her vote. While enumeration forms arrived for Bhuban, his wife, and his son, no form was issued in his daughter’s name this year. The family alleges that this caused Bhuban deep anxiety, leading to his death.

Upon receiving the news, Siliguri Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar, along with Namasudra Refugee Development Cell Central President Ranjit Sarkar and other leaders, visited the family in Ambari. They met the grieving members and assured them of all possible assistance.
