Man dies after bike falls into temporary roadside drain in Fulbari

Fulbari, 26th December: A tragic road accident claimed the life of a man after his motorcycle fell into a temporary roadside drain in Champadanga village under Fulbari II Gram Panchayat on Thursday night. The deceased has been identified as Gopal Roy, a resident of Champadanga village.


According to local sources, Gopal Roy was returning home on his bike after shopping at Fulbari market on Thursday night. Near the entrance road to his house, a large pit had been dug along the roadside for a long time, where a temporary drain had been created. While riding home, he reportedly lost control of his bike and fell into the drain.

When Roy did not return home even late into the night, his family members grew worried and began searching for him. After a prolonged search, they found him lying inside the drain. He was immediately rescued and rushed to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), where doctors declared him brought dead.


The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the area. Upon receiving information, NJP police reached the spot and have started an investigation into the matter.
