Jalpaiguri, 31st August: A man, identified as Sathyaranjan Sarkar, has been accused of attacking his wife, Chinu Sarkar, and daughter, Tanu Sarkar, with a sharp weapon. The shocking incident occurred on Saturday morning in the Nandanpur area near Mandalghat in Jalpaiguri Sadar block.
According to reports, both the husband and wife had been frequently engaged in altercations. On Saturday morning, Satyaranjan Sarkar reportedly launched a sudden and brutal attack on his wife with a sharp weapon. In an attempt to save her mother, their daughter intervened and was also injured.
Following this, the local residents rushed the injured women to a private hospital in Jalpaiguri. However, the two were transferred to Jalpaiguri Superspeciality Hospital for their critical condition.
Upon receiving the information, the police officials from the Kotwali Police Station and the relatives of the victims arrived at the hospital. The police officers have launched an intensive investigation into the entire incident.
