Siliguri, 27th September: An unsettling incident unfolded at Siliguri where an individual was arrested for allegedly murdering his wife under the influence of alcohol. The accused husband has been identified as Devendra Sarki, a resident of the Khola Chand Fafri area under the jurisdiction of the Bhaktinagar police station.
According to reports, Devendra, a railway employee, lived with his wife Kajal in the said area. The couple allegedly consumed alcohol regularly at home together. On Tuesday night, intoxicated, the couple broke out into a quarrel which escalated to a massive altercation and led to the wife’s murder.
Upon receiving the news, the Bhaktinagar police promptly arrived at the scene, retrieved the body, and transported it to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for a post-mortem examination. Simultaneously, Devendra Sarki was arrested.
Police sources revealed that the wife’s body bore several marks of brutal injuries. Currently, the police are engaged in ascertaining the actual reason behind the murder.
