Siliguri, 14th July: Siliguri Women’s Police Station has apprehended a man on charges of cheating his lover by deceitfully promising love and marriage. The arrested individual has been identified as Suraj Malpahariya. The incident came to light from Mohargon Tea Garden, located within the jurisdiction of Pradhan Nagar police station in Siliguri.
According to reports, Suraj developed a friendship with a woman residing in the same area and maintained a relationship with her for a lengthy period of 7 years. During this time, Suraj engaged in a physical relationship with the woman, deceiving her with false claims of marriage. However, the woman eventually discovered that Suraj was in contact with another woman and allegedly planned to marry her instead. Distressed by this revelation, the woman lodged a written complaint at Siliguri Women’s Police Station on the 5th of July.
Based on the complaint, the police from Siliguri Women’s Police Station and Pradhan Nagar Police Station arrested Suraj from his residence on Thursday night. Today, the accused was produced before the Siliguri court, while the officers at Siliguri Women’s Police Station continue their investigation into the matter.
