Bagdogra, 31st August: A man was arrested in Bagdogra for allegedly killing his wife’s lover with a sharp weapon following a dispute between the two.
According to reports, Malaku Munda, a mason and resident of Deomoni Tea Garden in Bagdogra, married Sunita Munda 15 years ago. Around seven years after their marriage, Sunita allegedly became involved in a relationship with a man named Mithu Barman. Several arbitration meetings were reportedly held to resolve the matter, but the efforts were unsuccessful.
Around a year ago, Sunita allegedly left her husband’s house and moved into a rented accommodation with Mithu.
On Sunday night, Malaku and Mithu reportedly met, following which a dispute broke out between them. During the altercation, Malaku allegedly attacked Mithu with a sharp weapon, leaving him seriously injured.
Mithu was taken to a private hospital for treatment, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Police arrested Malaku Munda in connection with the incident. He was produced before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court on Monday. Police are investigating the incident.
