Siliguri, 09th December: Sensation prevailed in Durga Nagar Colony of Siliguri’s Ward no. 4 after a man was allegedly murdered in the washroom of his residence. The deceased has been identified as Vipul Gupta (40), a hawker by profession. Following the incident, the accused identified as Ram Barman was arrested.
According to reports, on Friday night, the wife and son of the deceased went to attend a wedding ceremony. Upon returning home, they could not find Vipul. Subsequently, they noticed blood stains flowing from the washroom of the house. During this, a neighbour Ram Barman, opened the door of the washroom and escaped from the scene. Immediately, the matter was reported to the police.
Upon receiving the news, the cops of Khalpara Outpost arrived at the spot and arrested the accused from the said area. It has been alleged that the victim was first stabbed with a sharp weapon and then strangled to death. However, the precise reason behind the alleged murder is yet to be ascertained. Currently, police are engaged in further investigation.
