Major crime conspiracy foiled near SJDA office in Siliguri, 7 miscreants arrested

Siliguri, 17th February: Police from Pradhan Nagar Police Station arrested seven miscreants before they could carry out a major crime near the old SJDA office in Siliguri. The operation was conducted by a plainclothes team patrolling the Siliguri Junction area late on Monday night.


According to reports, a group of 10-12 people was seen standing suspiciously at a secluded spot near the SJDA office. When police moved to surround them, some fled while seven were apprehended.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Sunil Tamang, Subhash Oraon, Karan Subba, Pankaj Singh, Bittu Khan, Dheeraj Shah, and Amar Sahani, all residents of Siliguri.


During searches and interrogation, it was revealed that the gang was planning thefts and robberies in the Siliguri Junction area. Police have filed a case against all seven under charges of conspiring to commit robbery and presented them before the Siliguri court. Investigations are ongoing, and police are searching for other suspects who escaped.
