Siliguri, 17th November: During a press conference on Tuesday, Ashok Bhattacharya, the chairman of the BoA at Siliguri Municipal Corporation, stated that despite financial losses, SMC broke down the newly constructed railings at Lal Mohan Moulik Niranjan Ghat keeping in mind the needs of the Chhath Puja devotees.
Bhattacharya said that Chhath puja is being organized in 145 ghats across the city.SMC has developed the infrastructure of each ghat following the guidelines of Calcutta High Court and Green Tribunal.
Bhattacharya further urged all to refrain from bursting fireworks during the puja days.
