Jalpaiguri, 07th November: Alleging of not getting ration despite holding the card, the residents of Naya Basti area of Jalpaiguri created a ruckus and closed the ration shop. The cardholders alleged that have not received ration for the last 5-6 days. Apparently, they were asked to link their ration card with the Aadhaar card. Although they completed all the required procedures, the ration dealer allegedly agreed to give the ration only after the OTP was received on the registered mobile number.
Upon receiving the news, the Kotwali police reached the spot and brought the situation under control. After assuring the solution of the problem, the ration shop was opened again. Meanwhile, the ration dealer said that the linking of Aadhaar card with ration card, due to the implementation of one nation-one ration card, is getting very tough both for customers and ration dealers.
