Rajganj, 02nd November: The residents of Gaurmota Gach area under Rajganj Majhiyali gram panchayat warned of boycotting the upcoming polls if the bridge construction work is not completed soon.
Reportedly, construction work of the paved bridge over Bhutki River has not been completed and is lying in such a state for the past several years. As a result, the residents of Gaurmotagach, Badlagachh, and other surrounding areas are facing a lot of difficulties in their daily commute.
The locals alleged that despite the promises made by leaders of various political parties during the polls, the bridge was not constructed. Hence, they warned to boycott the upcoming 2021 assembly polls if the construction work is not finished before the elections.
In this regard, Manik Roy, a former local panchayat member, said that despite requesting the gram panchayat authorities to initiate the construction process, no necessary steps have been taken so far.
