Rajganj, 11th May: The condition of the road in the Ambari area has deteriorated significantly over an extended period of time. Local residents have been demanding immediate repairs to the road. It has been reported that the road stretching from Ambari Karatoya Bridge of Binnaguri Gram Panchayat in Rajganj block to the Post Office Road via High School has been in a dilapidated state for about five years.
The local administration has allegedly not taken any initiative to address the road repairs, prompting the community to demand swift action. Residents have expressed their grievances, highlighting that hundreds of people rely on this road for their daily commute. The poor condition of the road has led to numerous difficulties and challenges for the locals. Notably, the road serves important establishments such as a high school, health centre, and Ambari market.
Students face difficulties reaching their educational institutions, and sick patients encounter obstacles in accessing medical care. Furthermore, accidents have become a daily occurrence due to the road’s deteriorating state. Consequently, the residents have united in their demand for immediate road repairs.
In response to these concerns, Tushar Kanti Dutta, the Deputy Head of Binnaguri area, stated that the Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority has been notified regarding the condition of the road. And that it is hoped that the necessary steps, such as tendering the road repair project, will be taken promptly.
