Siliguri, 03 July: Lions Club of Siliguri Prerna has started a new session today with 10 service works at Bhavesh More Ashighar. Lions District 322F DG Shankar Kumar Das and outgoing DG Abhijit Sen were present as chief guests during the event. While PMCC Nirmal Gidar and VDG-1 Tamal Das Gupta were present as guests of honour. The other guests included Cabinet Treasurer Sahil Gupta, Region Chairperson Jayant Saha, Zone Chairperson Divya Kalni, Dr Prince Parikh and others.
During the Aarambh – 10 in 1 activity, the Lions Club of Siliguri Prerna installed their fourth clean drinking water machine at Ashighar under the Jaldhara project. The project was conducted in memory of Dinesh Kumar Agarwal by the donor Neela Agarwal and her family.
Lions Club of Siliguri Prerna’s President Komal Agarwal said that they also launched their third permanent project ‘Food for All’ under which will be held every Saturday for 52 weeks. Under the said programme, 500 people were provided food on the first day today.
Furthermore, Sakhi Project was also launched. Under which 5000 sanitary pads were distributed today. The team is committed to distributing 3,00,000 sanitary pads. Besides, 500 sanitizers, 500 masks and 500 bottles of juice were also distributed today. 50 umbrellas were also distributed to the needy under the project ‘One District, One Activity – Rimjhim’.
In addition to this, a seminar on COVID Awareness was conducted by Dr Sutanu Ghoshal. While a seminar on feminine hygiene was conducted by Dr Shweta Agrawal and a seminar on Child Cancer Awareness was conducted by Dr Prince Parikh. The Lions Club of Siliguri Prerna also celebrated ‘Samman Divas’ by felicitating three doctors and four CAs.
In the programme, the outgoing president Laxmi Kabra, secretary Neelam Agarwal, including all the members were actively present in the event.
