Siliguri, 04th August: One of the oldest and biggest Lions Club of the region, Lions Club Of Siliguri Greater today began its oxygen distribution programme under the name Jeevan Raksha.
Under the programme the family members of the COVID home quarantined patient would be provided with filled Oxygen cylinder 10.2 litres, Cylinder trolley, Humidifier Bottle, Pressure regulator set, O2 Key with spanner and Nasal Cannula and tubing (Oxygen mask) after a refundable security deposit of 10 thousand rupees which the family will receive back on returning back the oxygen equipments.
The first patient to receive the Oxygen cylinder was Shyamal Ghosh from Shantinagar, whose son Shubhradeep Ghosh came to receive the oxygen cylinder.
The programme was launched in the presence of Multiple District Chairman Lion Sanjay Agarwal who inaugurated the event with Club President Lion Yogendra Goyal, and Secretary Lion Naresh Kumar Agarwal. The programme was also visited by club dignitaries including Lion Bishnu Kedia, Lion Suresh Sinhal, Lion B. S Barmi, and Lion Vikas Bansal with other visiting guests.
The campaign was launched under the mentorship of the Hospital Chairman Lion P. C Maskara seeing the exceeding challenges faced by the family of COVID 19 patients towards accessing basic life support which primarily requires Oxygen support.
To avail this facility the patient family can contact Siliguri Greater Lions Eye Hospital directly or as provided in the helpline. During the programme the Club members also distributed Sanitizer, Mask and Coffee to all the staff of Siliguri Greater Lions Eye Hospital.
