Alipurduar, 14th December: An adult leopard lurking in the Dalgaon tea garden was trapped in a cage laid by the forest department. Meanwhile, a huge crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of the wild animal on Wednesday morning.
According to tea garden sources, the labourers had been observing the movements of the leopard in the tea garden for quite some time. With the wild animal at large, the workers of the tea garden were in a state of panic. Following this, the forest department installed a cage in the garden to catch the leopard.
Garden Manager Mrigank Bhattacharya stated that the workers had been seeing the leopard lurking around for quite some time. After this, an application was submitted to the Forest Department to install a cage on the plantation. Fortunately, the leopard was trapped in the cage this morning. The workers heaved a sigh of relief.
