Leopard trapped in a cage in Lakhipara Tea Garden

Dooars, 14th February: A leopard was trapped in a cage planted by the forest department in Section No. 14 BB of the Lakhipara Tea Garden under the Banarhat Police station.


According to sources, the leopard was roaming in the tea garden for many days, due to which, the forest officials had planted a cage. The local people sighted the leopard trapped in it, today. The incident was immediately reported to the forest department. Upon receiving the news of the incident, the forest officials reached the spot and recovered the leopard. It has been reported that the leopard will be released into the forest after a primary health check.
