Alipurduar, 07th December: Sensation prevailed after a leopard carcass was recovered in the Dhulagaon area under Jateswar-I Gram Panchayat under Madarihat Range of Alipurduar district.
According to reports, on Thursday, the locals spotted the carcass and promptly informed the Forest Department. Upon receiving news, the officials of the Jaldapara Forest Department along with the cops of Jateswar Outpost arrived at the spot and recovered the carcass.
Preliminary investigation by the Forest Department indicates that the leopard had probably succumbed to its injuries. The carcass was subsequently transported for a post-mortem examination. Currently, the Forest Department is engaged in further investigation.
