Darjeeling, 21st November: The Jalpaiguri Excise Division conducted a raid early on Thursday morning and seized a significant quantity of Sikkim-made liquor from a restaurant in Darjeeling. One person was arrested in connection with the seizure.
Reportedly, acting on a tip-off, the Excise Department carried out the raid at a restaurant located in old super market on Motor Stand in Darjeeling. During the operation, a large amount of illegal liquor was recovered, according to a departmental official. The seized liquor has been confiscated, and further investigations are underway.
