Siliguri, 09th July: The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway services have been suspended by the Indian Railways until July 11th. This decision was made after recent landslides in multiple areas from Sukna to Kurseong due to heavy rainfall.
According to reports, several railway lines have been affected in these areas, prompting the suspension of the toy train service. However, the toy train ride from Darjeeling to Ghoom remains operational for the time being.
Senior Railway Official Sabyasachi Dey highlighted that the primary concern is the safety of passengers. As a result, the services have been temporarily suspended due to the landslides in the highlands.
