Siliguri, 31st May: In a major breakthrough, the cops of Ashighar Outpost under Bhaktinagar police station arrested the land mafia kingpin identified as Pradeep Chaudhary alias PK.
As per the report, the police of Ashighar outpost, acting on a tip-off, raided Pradeep’s house on Monday night in South Shantinagar. During the course, the police recovered a firearm and one round of live cartridges. Pradeep Chaudhary was immediately taken into custody.
According to police sources, Pradeep Chaudhary had been involved in land fraud for years. Numerous complaints have been lodged against him in various police stations. He had allegedly gone underground for a long time. Finally, on Monday night, the police raided his house and arrested him. After the arrest, names of several political leaders involved in the land fraud case have come to the fore. The accused was produced in Jalpaiguri court today. Police are probing the matter.
