Siliguri, 16th August: Sensation prevailed in the area of Ward No. 38 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation when a land businessman was shot on Monday night. The Bhaktinagar Police and DD are investigating the whole matter.
The injured has been identified as Vidyut Saha. Reportedly, he was sitting in an office nearby to his house when two bike-borne men shot him. He was shot at the bottom of his chest and gravely injured. He was rushed to the hospital on Sevoke road and is currently undergoing treatment.
DCP Joy Tudu, ACP Subhendra Kumar along with Bhaktinagar police station and Ashighar outpost rushed to the spot in the night itself. According to the sources, Vidyut Saha was arrested a few months back by the police of Ashighar Police Outpost on charges of illegal trading of land. The police are probing the whole matter and are looking for the miscreants.
