Kalimpong, 30th December: Kalimpong MLA Ruden Sada Lepcha has met Bengal Agriculture Minister Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay and demanded the farmers in Kalimpong district be able to enjoy the same benefits as the farmers in Darjeeling district are getting under the government’s agricultural scheme.
During the meeting, he also presented a memorandum to Minister Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay on various demands related to agriculture, including the development of agribusiness in the Kalimpong region.
It is to be noted that the Minister of State for Agriculture arrived at Kalimpong district for a visit on December 28. After the meeting with the MLA, the Minister assured to develop the agriculture sector in the district. Furthermore, the Minister is scheduled to meet officials of the agriculture departments in Kalimpong and Darjeeling today.
